It’s Friday night and instead of going clubbing I went to a yoga class with one of my best friends, good on me for staying fit right? Yeah that’s what I thought but guys you won’t believe what happened to me. I just got body shamed BY THE YOGA TEACHER!!! I mean can you believe it? People are even body shamed when they try to be healthy and fit. In what world do we live in? He called me chubby although I wear an Australian 10 which is a European 38 which is totally fine. Why do I need to be a size zero? I have curves that I love and every woman more or less has but seriously? So many teenagers are struggling with eating disorders or depression and even young adults do so why on earth do people show such disrespectful behaviour? This is just ridiculous, the guy is easily over 50, can someone please teach him some manners!! Mental health is extremely important and it’s well known that a lot of people are struggling daily, I don’t get that some people need to make life even harder.
As you can tell, I’m really pissed because I was struggling with my appearance a lot when I was a teenager but right now this only causes a creative process. I made progress and am happy with myself but other human beings are more sensitive to these kind of comments. What if I had bulimia? I’m sure such a comment could easily cause a relapse. People need to think about what they are saying!
Why are people body shaming at all? Why is somebody’s weight someone else’s business? Why make other people feel bad? There are so many reasons why people gain weight like illnesses or medicine but still it’s not of anyone’s business. Stop body shaming other people it can always have a serious reason and it’s just unnecessary to make someone feel bad on purpose. I know how hard it is to feel good in your own skin but you have to stop listening to these nasty comments. Haters are gonna hate but you are stronger, I know you are!!
Please feel free to open up about your body shaming experience and leave your comments and thoughts down below. I’m interested in all your stories. This is a safe place, feel free to talk!!
